K's sis in-law gave birth to baby alyssa late monday evening and the whole family including myself were at the hospital eagerly anticipating her arrival. We were finally allowed to see her and her mum after a couple of hours and let me tell you, alyssa is simply the most gorgeous little girl.
Man, is she gonna be a spoilt baby..family and relatives are flying down to Australia as we speak and we've all gone down to do some shopping for her this afternoon. There's gonna be loads of pressies today. She wasn't due for another two weeks hence none of us were really prepared for the birth. All good tho..she's healthy and i guess that's what matters most. Here's to Agnes and Jupiter for doing a wonderful job and to baby Alyssa!! Uncle Alex is gonna spoillllll you!!

pro-cras-ti-nate :
transitive : to put off intentionally and habitually
intransitive : to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done
Aye folks, the verdict is out and i'm guilty of irregular contributions to my OWN blog site. Wow, last christmas didn't seem that long ago was it? Okay, this is where i come up with some lame excuse like i was terribly busy and so on but i won't stoop so low as to do so coz the mere fact of the matter was that i was just ahem..lazy..wait..let me put it another way..
I was embroiled in other seemingly more paramount undertakings which required my unabridged immersion. Heck..i was just fucking lazy..grin.
So i am at it once again for the pursuit of my place in blogtopia (i can almost hear you guys taking side bets to see how long i'll last with this born again endeavour) and we'll see what happens next..

When i started this blog, i told myself that postings would be as regular as i can manage, unfortunately enough for me, my computer decided to go on a rampant meltdown of sorts the last two weeks or so and after much tinkering and a serious dose of highblood pressure coupled with bouts of computer rage, its up and running and back on track..well, its definitely running but as for it being back on track...err..
I think its about time to seriously conclude that i ought to;
a) do a total overhaul and upgrade my entire PC system
b) get a spanking brand new Power Mac G5 with a 30 inch Cinema HD display no less
c) in the interest of my own mental sanity, join a monastery and forgo technology altogether
(ya..rite..)
I kinda like option b) the most actually...anyone knows Santa's direct line?

Just two days ago i received a pleasant surprise in the mail..my first xmas card and pressie for the year all the way from singapore..thanks a gazillion Jen! And ever since, i've been staring at it with the compulsion of opening it, lol..should i or shouldn't i? its only a little peek, what harm could it possibly do? but being someone who truly loves the childish allure and the whole christmas hulabuloo, i've decided to do the right thing and wait till christmas morning to open all the presents (grin, i just had a sinking feeling that this present could be it..Noooooo!) and i guess this pressie is also a good incentive to actually get the xmas tree out now oppose to doing it next month..grin.
How time whizzes on by. A year has past but it still seems like only yesterday i was back in singapore for vacation and driving my mum around town to get all the xmas shopping done and i recall the relentless crowds everywhere i went, so much so that i suggested to my mum that we head to the shops earlier in the morning..what a difference that made (sacarstic tone). Getting toys was perhaps the the most daunting task of all..i love kids and all but getting run over by a dozen of them didn't exactly get my christmas juices flowing if y'know what i'm saying..who could forget those damn shoes which doubles up as skates? I'm telling you, they were everywhere. Ok let's be honest, how many of you guys just felt like throwing a stick right in front of an unsuspecting kid while he's gliding around thinking he's all dat? be honest..*evil smirk*...okay okay, i'm just playin..

After all this time i'm still getting weird msgs from strangers on friendster, the latest went something along the lines of the person asking me what my horoscope is. I replied that i was a capricorn and asked if that was a good or bad thing. Her reply was a straighforward no and that was it. How strange was that? seriously..what gives? i found that to be pretty amusing tho..grin..
What i did not find amusing was the fact that i had to turn down the invitation to one of my closest friend's wedding on the 27th of Nov..pretty upset bout it. I really would love to be there and if it wasn't for some commitments i can't weasel myself out of, i would haul ass come hailwinds or storm. She's still a sweetie to send me an invite and i'll be sending the newly weds a present ASAP, of course, i'd much rather be there in person damn it!..double bummer...sorry trace..i'll make it up to ya promise!

Just got back from a family friend's home with a tray of curry puffs and i was just thinking bout the old chang kee curry puffs back in singapore and long before it became a franchise. I recall when i was much younger, my dad would drive down to this old kopi tiam where i think the original was located (somewhere near little india i think..correct me if i'm wrong) and buy a couple of bags full and we'll be happily eating away at it in the car. The one thing that stands out in my mind about those curry puffs was the hard boiled egg in them..odd.
Another thing that comes to mind is otah otah, back when i was in primary school, i would buy shitloads of that stuff all wrapped in banana leaves or is it pandan (!?) for a mere 20 cents. Over here in perth we can get them like that as well but its aussie 2 dollars a pop at selected asian supermarts, frozen and imported of course. Speaking of frozen and imported, i've had it with frozen durians. I had this sudden craving for them a few weeks ago and i schmoozied over to this shop which sells them frozen and after about a minute of devouring the "king of fruits", i felt as tho i was gonna throw up. Just picture yourself having to eat frozen playdoh and u'll get the picture..grin..i want the real deal bought fresh off the streets where the uncles yell out:
"lai ah lai...dulian dulian..velly flesh.. oni 5 lollar, buy 3 get 1 flee!"...heh..
